Sadovenko Ivan Oleksandrovych
Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of Department of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology
In 1971 he graduated from Dnepropetrovsk Mining Institute, studied hydrogeology and engineering geology, ant got the qualification of mining hydrogeologist/engineer.
From 1971 to 1973 he was on active military service as a tank platoon commander. In 1973-1987 he worked as engineer-geologist and chief geologist at the Institutes of mining design ("Dniprodiproshaht") and design of railways ("Dniprodiprotrans"). In the period from 1987 to 2000 he worked as senior researcher, associate professor and professor of Department of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology, in 2000-2012 he was the Head of Department of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology.
In 1984 he defended PhD thesis on the specialty 05.15.02 "Underground mining"; in 1993 he defended the doctoral thesis on the specialities 05.15.02 "Mining Engineering" and 05.15.11 "Physical processes of mining".
He teaches the subjects "Environmental Security" and "Master's Professional Functions and Tasks."
The main field of research is geo-mechanical processes and fluid and gas flows in complex geotechnical systems.
He has about 200 scientific papers, 8 books, 1 textbook, 15 inventions and scientific discoveries.
He was awarded by the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology; he is Honored Scientist of Ukraine. He is the head of the special council on doctoral theses defense.
From 1997 to 2002 he headed the expert council in Dnepropetrovsk on engineering protection of the city. He was the head of three international projects with partners from Germany, Japan, and USA.
He was supervisor and consultant of 12 PhD and 4 doctoral defended dissertations.
